4.1 Service Providers
We share information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our Website and delivering our Services, including our third-party LMS provider, web hosting provider, email service provider, and analytics providers. These service providers are contractually obligated to use your information only for the purposes of providing services to EMT and to maintain the confidentiality and security of your data.
4.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a lawful request from public authorities.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to enhance your experience on our Website and to collect usage information. Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser.
5.1 Types of Cookies We Use
Essential Cookies: Necessary for the basic functionality of our Website, including user authentication and session management. These cookies cannot be disabled.

5.2 Managing Cookies
You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. However, if you disable cookies, some features of our Website may not function properly. Disabling cookies will not prevent you from accessing our educational content, though certain interactive features may be limited.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as is reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including to satisfy any legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. Specifically:
Account Information: Retained for as long as your account remains active and for a reasonable period thereafter (not to exceed three years following account closure) to allow for reactivation and to comply with legal obligations.
Course Completion Records: Retained for a minimum period necessary to support certificate verification and compliance documentation, unless you request deletion.
Automatically Collected Data: Technical and usage data is generally retained in aggregate or anonymized form and may be retained indefinitely for analytical purposes.
When personal information is no longer needed for the purposes described in this policy and is not subject to any legal retention requirement, we will securely delete or de-identify it.
7. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. These measures include, but are not limited to:
Encryption of data in transit using industry-standard SSL/TLS protocols.
Access controls that limit access to personal information to authorized personnel who need it to perform their job functions.
Regular review and assessment of our data collection, storage, and processing practices.
Contractual requirements for third-party service providers to maintain appropriate security measures.
While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure, please contact us immediately at [email protected].
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your state of residence, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. EMT honors the following rights for all users, regardless of location:
Right to Access: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
Right to Deletion: You may request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions (such as data required for legal compliance or to complete a transaction you initiated).
Right to Correction: You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
Right to Data Portability: Where technically feasible, you may request that we provide your personal information in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
Right to Opt Out of Communications: You may opt out of receiving promotional emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us directly. Please note that even if you opt out of promotional communications, we may still send you service-related messages necessary for the administration of your account.
Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights. You will not receive different pricing, a different quality of service, or be denied service for exercising your rights.
8.1 How to Exercise Your Rights
To exercise any of the rights described above, please submit a request by emailing us at [email protected]. We will verify your identity before processing your request to protect your privacy. We will respond to verifiable requests within forty-five (45) calendar days of receipt. If we require additional time (up to an additional 45 days), we will inform you of the reason and the expected timeframe in writing.
You may also designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. If you use an authorized agent, we may require verification of the agent’s authority and your identity.
9. Additional Disclosures for California Residents
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CCPA/CPRA”). This section supplements the information in this Privacy Policy and applies solely to California residents.
9.1 Categories of Personal Information
In the preceding twelve (12) months, we have collected the following categories of personal information as defined by the CCPA: identifiers (such as name and email address); internet or electronic network activity information (such as browsing history and interactions with our Website); and professional or employment-related information (such as organizational affiliation provided during registration). We collect this information for the business purposes described in Section 3 of this Privacy Policy.
9.2 Sale and Sharing of Personal Information
EMT does not “sell” or “share” your personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. We do not exchange personal information for monetary or other valuable consideration, nor do we share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes.
9.3 California Consumer Rights
In addition to the rights described in Section 8, California residents have the right to: request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, the categories of sources, the business purpose for collection, and the categories of third parties with whom we share information; request deletion of personal information; request correction of inaccurate personal information; and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (note: EMT does not sell or share your information). California residents also have the right to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information, though EMT does not collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA.
9.4 Global Privacy Control
EMT recognizes Global Privacy Control (“GPC”) signals sent by your browser as a valid opt-out request under California law. If our systems detect a GPC signal from your browser, we will treat it as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information associated with that browser. With respect to other Do Not Track (“DNT”) browser signals, there is currently no industry consensus on how to respond to DNT signals; however, we honor GPC signals as described above.
9.5 California "Shine the Light" Law
Under California Civil Code Section 1798.83, California residents may request information regarding the disclosure of personal information to third parties for direct marketing purposes. As stated above, EMT does not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
10. Children’s Privacy
Our Services are designed for use by adults and professionals and are not directed to individuals under the age of sixteen (16). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete that information as promptly as possible. If you believe that a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected].
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make changes, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy. For material changes that significantly affect how we handle your personal information, we will provide additional notice, such as by posting a prominent notice on our Website or sending you an email notification (if we have your email address on file).
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information. Your continued use of our Services after the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of such changes.
